Why do I call myself the motivational editor?
Because I’m passionate about motivating other writers in their journey to publication. For over 15 years, fear and doubt about my abilities stopped me from even trying to be a writer. I don’t want that to happen to you.
I’m here to help you
- Get results
- Have fun during the journey
- Find the right publishing path
- Keep the process orderly
We all start out in the same place: as beginners. My writing career started at Focus on the Family as a junior copywriter and account/project manager for their in-house ad agency. In 2006 I began freelance writing. In 2010, I began freelance editing, and in June 2014, I became an editor for CrossRiver Media, and in 2019 became the editorial director. My editorial work with CrossRiver includes many award-winning books. I stepped down from my role with CrossRiver in October 2024.
I am the mother of three adult children (each born in a different decade and different state, how fun is that!) and two grandchildren. I am a Marine Corps veteran, widely traveled, and lived in Europe for four years.
All my life experiences help me to be a better writer and editor so I can help you make your book the best it can be.
I am a graduate of the Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild Apprentice program and CLASSeminar.

I Believe
- That the Holy Bible is the infallible, living Word of God, written by men of old as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
- In the Holy Trinity of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
- In salvation through grace by faith in Jesus Christ, resulting in a changed life.
- Water Baptism by immersion is explicit in the New Testament.
- Baptism in the Holy Spirit as a separate work of grace (evidenced by power and speaking in tongues) is for every Christian.
- Living a sinless life (as specified in God’s Word / worthy of receiving Holy Communion) will be marked by growth through prayer, Bible study, and witnessing.
- In supporting the local church with tithes and offerings.
