MJ Scholz, a good friend of mine and part of my writers critique group, just published her debut book, Connecting Colors, Feelings, and Words. I’m so excited for her because this book was 2 years in the publishing process—from contract to finished book, with lots of questions in between! This unique children’s book—a coloring book with a purpose— took a lot of work from start to finish, but its a terrific book!

Creating Your Story World
(Updated June 2021).
Jane M. Tucker is the author of the Lottie Braun series, which released as a kindle box set earlier this month. Janes series came about much like my own–unintentionally. The series includes Lottie’s Gift, Lottie’s Hope, and Lottie’s Freedom.
Jane is a lifelong reader and writer who has a deep love for the art of storytelling. And that storytelling carries us along effortlessly in the story of Lottie Braun.
Jane hails from Kansas and blogs weekly at Postcards from the Heartland about her life in the Midwest.
Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite herbal tea and sit back for a marvelous interview as she tells us how she created the oh-so-real and engaging stories of the Lottie Braun series.

Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to my author friend Kathy Nickerson.
This week Kathy launched the last book of her Glory Circle Sister series. I’ve read several books in the series (some more than once!). They are very entertaining and carry wonderful messages about life. I have featured her several times here on TheMotivationalEditor.com. Be sure and read her author interview with me over at my author blog.

I’m pleased to have indie author Melody Balthaser with me today. What does she say about herself?
I’m blessed to live with my husband and teenage son on my family’s farm, nestled between the Catskill and Pocono Mountains, in the scenic Upper Delaware River Valley.
Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, through writing and speaking, is a passion of mine, and I believe with His love we can push through fear to reach our full potential. I’m constantly pursuing ways to surrender to God’s love and blast my fear.
Open water and heights have always terrified me, but in the past few years I’ve snorkeled during a shark feeding and jumped out of a plane at thirteen thousand feet. My bucket list of fear busters continues!
I’d say she also busted through one other fear.

Producing a Quality Self-Published Book – with C. Austin Tucker
That’s a bold title I’ve given this post, and I’m sure that most people who self-publish desire to create a quality product. But that’s just not what happens all the time.
People get scammed. Or those who just don’t know better put their books out there before the book is ready for publication.
But author C. Austin Tucker spent the time to learn the realities of publishing. She shares some of that with us today.
That said, it’s December and we’re all immersed in preparing for and celebrating Christmas. What better time to discuss Tucker’s book Behold the Lamb: A Harmony of the Gospels (The Chronological Word Truth Life Bible).
I’ll be the first to admit, I often get confused because the Bible [Read more…] about Producing a Quality Self-Published Book – with C. Austin Tucker

Books, Your Business, and Reaching a Niche Audience
We write books for various reasons—a niche subject we’re passionate about, a personal story to share with others, to inform, or even to simply entertain.
For entrepreneurs, reaching a wider audience in order to help them in our area of expertise often prompts us to write a book. Such is the case for Kristen Krueger who is in the process of writing her first book and plans to launch it April 2018.
Kristen, you’re a counselor; what thoughts were at the foundation of your decision to write Invisible Wounds? [Read more…] about Books, Your Business, and Reaching a Niche Audience
