The holidays are upon us. Before we know it, 2020 will make its entrance.
Every time I say 2020, it makes me think of the song “In the year 2525.” Yeah, I know, you’re probably clueless. Those older than 50 might remember it. It was a #1 hit in 1969. I was the ripe old age of 13. What’s this have to do with today’s blog? Absolutely nothing. Just adding a tidbit of fun and history of my life.
Since partnering this year with my friend Tamara Clymer in her publishing business, CrossRiver Media Group, my time has been drawn more deeply toward running that business. Additionally, there are a lot of books I still want to write. And that takes time.
I won’t be posting any blogs at all during December. I’m going to take that time to evaluate my 2019 goals and achievements, and then sit quietly before the Lord and seek His will for 2020.
I anticipate I will still do freelance editing. But because I want to write more, I will pull back on how often I blog.
I will also be determining whether I will establish 2 blogs: The Motivational Editor (about the craft of writing), and DebraLButterfield (strictly an author blog for my reader fans), or keep one blog.
I encourage each of you to spend time these last 6 weeks of 2019 evaluating this year’s goals.
- What were your goals?
- What goals did you accomplish?
- What goals did you miss?
- Has your platform grown?
- Did you have an email list? Is it growing?
Once you have evaluated 2019, then you can make plans for 2020.
